More about pest management survey
Who needs one
Under NEA’s Environmental Sanitation (ES) Regime, specified premises must have a comprehensive pest management survey carried out by a registered Vector Control Operator at least once every six months (see NEA’s ES Regime FAQ). Whether your property is covered depends on its premises category and circumstances; a business name or licence label alone does not settle it.
NEA lists these premises types under the regime: coffeeshops, community care and eldercare facilities, food centres and markets, food courts and canteens, preschools, schools, social service facilities, specified shopping malls and student care centres. Pages for some of them: childcare and preschool, school and student care, Active Ageing Centre and shopping mall pest control.
KleanSG is listed on NEA’s Vector Control Operator register under registration VCO20220007. See our credentials.
What the survey looks at
The survey gives the premises team a wider view than a routine visit: pest signs, entry and harbourage points, structural defects, refuse handling and housekeeping conditions. Findings and recommendations go into a written report to help plan prevention and follow-up. Areas that cannot be accessed or safely assessed are recorded as such, not assumed to have been inspected.
How it is arranged
- Tell us the site type, location, approximate size, licence or operating category, pest concerns and preferred survey period.
- Agree the areas, site records to review, restricted spaces and the person who will coordinate access.
- Our team surveys the accessible areas within the agreed scope.
- A KleanSG technician signs the report, which is sent to you on the day of the survey. Format and any follow-up discussion are agreed for the site.
What to send for a quote
Send the premises type and location, approximate floor area, current pest concerns, a site plan if you have one, operating hours, proposed access areas and any previous survey or pest-service records. Mention separately managed or restricted areas. Food businesses that also need monthly servicing can see F&B pest control.

Common questions
Is the survey the same as a routine pest-control visit?
No. A routine visit records the areas checked and work done. The survey looks at wider premises conditions and produces a detailed findings-and-recommendations report. NEA states that a routine report saying no major pests were seen does not by itself fulfil the survey's purpose.
Does the survey replace regular monitoring or treatment?
No. Those depend on the property, pest activity and agreed service plan. The six-month survey minimum is not a treatment frequency for every ES premises.
Does hiring KleanSG replace our ECC or ECO(SP)?
No. Those appointments and the premises manager's ES Regime duties stay with your organisation. The survey is carried out by KleanSG as a Vector Control Operator.
