More about ant control

Why the trail and nest matter

Ant trails turn up around food areas, sinks, cabinets, walls, windows, pipe openings, balconies and potted plants. Different species prefer different foods, nest sites and routes, so treating the visible workers alone may miss the wider activity.

The technician looks at the ants’ appearance and movement, the full trail, food or moisture sources, likely nesting areas, entry routes and whether the source is indoors or outdoors. That decides whether baiting, targeted application, nest treatment, entry-route treatment or a combination suits your home.

What to photograph

  • a close-up showing the ants’ colour and size
  • the full trail
  • where the ants enter or disappear
  • the surrounding wall, cabinet, window, pipe or plant
  • any nest opening or soil activity
  • each affected area, if there is more than one

Tell us when the trail appears, whether it returns after cleaning, what the ants seem to be feeding on and whether the activity is indoors, outdoors or both. Our home pest photo checklist has more on safe photos.

Visits and follow-up

One-time treatment can suit localised activity. Widespread, recurring or indoor-and-outdoor activity may need extra visits, monitoring or a recurring arrangement. You receive a service report, and follow-up and package terms are stated in the quotation.

Tell us about children, pets, plants or access limits when you enquire. If treatment needs food put away, children or pets kept apart, or a wait before re-entry, we explain this before work begins.

Helping the treatment work

Store food securely, wipe up spills, manage water and moisture, keep waste contained, check potted plants and close small gaps where practical. Ants are not a sign of poor housekeeping, and cleaning alone may not reach a colony in a wall void, plant or exterior area.

What customers say

“Great professional service… I was worry at first how the pest control could be done while I am overseas but they did a throughout onsite inspection and servicing, and then sent me back the details (with photos) via WhatsApp. They also did a follow-up chat with me to check if there is an infestation…”

“Great service! The point of contact was very patient and answered to all my queries. Did a very good job of exterminating the cockroaches in my house. They also applied chemicals to prevent further infestation. Will recommend to others!”

Common questions

Why do ant trails come back after I wipe them?

Wiping removes the ants you see, but the colony, satellite nests, food or moisture source, or entry route may be elsewhere. Some colonies have several queens or nest sites. We trace the wider trail and likely source before choosing treatment.

Do I need to know which ant species it is?

No. Close-up and trail photos help, and the technician assesses the likely ant type onsite. Several tiny species look alike without magnification.

Can treatment start on the first visit?

Yes, once the technician has assessed the trail, likely source, access and a suitable approach. If more information or preparation is needed, we explain the next step.
